Om ditt område är design, erbjud gratis formgivning. Om det är copywriting eller reklam du är intresserad av, erbjud gratis copywriting eller annonsdesign till små företag du beundrar. (Små företag vänder sällan ner gratis tjänster!)
Säg, ”Jag jobbar för att bli [X], och jag har noggrant studerat ämnet för att göra det bra [länk till din blogg]. Jag skulle vilja erbjuda dig [några gratis tjänster kring X] för att utveckla mitt kunnande praktiskt. Jag förväntar mig inte någon betalning alls. Men på vägen, om du så vill, kanske du kan hänvisa mig till andra människor du känner som kan ha nytta av mina tjänster.”
